Summit view

Cusco, September 2011

Last two days in Cusco: a rest day spent touring museums, and a training climb up "Viva Peru Hill". Most museums in Cusco don't allow photography, but the courtyard of the archeology museum was an exception. The site wasn't too interesting to me, but the groundskeeper was very photogenic.

cusco Folks started posing with the vicuna.
The vicuna didn't much like being petted, but did like to rest its neck on my arm. Rather surprising the first time that happened.
cusco We hiked up "Viva Peru Hill" as a training hike. Partway up we were passed by this Andean Caracara.
