The first real uphill hike of the season. It had snowed heavily the day before, and the
day started out quite cool, but warmed enough not to be a major problem. Still,
all the snow on the ground was a major contrast with
the same hike almost exactly a year before .
We stopped to rest at a scenic ledge. Dan was telling a story. I'm pretty sure it
wasn't about fish, even if the photo gives that impression.
I was pretty proud of the composition of this photo, until I noticed that the
horizon isn't horizontal. (Same problem creeps into some of my other photos as well.)
Same place and time, view over Rachel's other shoulder (which Jon seems to find fascinating).
Still same place and time, view to the left. Victor shows off his new trail map / scarf (which Naomi doesn't seem to find fascinating).
View from the lower part of the summit cone. I think this shot would have been better with expensive
color film (the digital camera doesn't quite do justice to the dazzling white snow
and the level of detail that was visible). Still, it came out pretty well considering I didn't have
to calculate what f-stop to use.
On the summit: Jon communes with a raven (Hugin or Munin?)

Back at the trailhead. "Ichi tasu ichi wa?" "NI!!"
