But at least the others have their eyes open.

On the way down, I spotted this Trillium flower behind a rock (if any park rangers ask,
I was enriching the soil's nitrate content, not wandering off-trail).
It's not such a rare flower, but it was a good chance to play with my camera's
extreme-close-up feature.

OK, look closely... see that rock right in the middle? Notice how it's kinda blurry?
That's because it's actually a wild turkey hopping over the wall. I guess you'll
have to trust me on this one. This photo taught me that there's one
problem with auto-everything digital cameras: shutter speed. A half-second
before, when I pressed the button, the turkey was perched at the top of the wall
with its wings spread.
