Signs of Spring, April 2015

After a winter of record-breaking snowfall, I was anxious to record the return of flowers and hoping to see some migrating birds. Here are photos from a series of short walks in my neighborhood after the snow had mostly melted. Except for the Savannah sparrow, all the birds shown are actually winter residents, and in fact dark-eyed juncos migrate northwardaway from here in the spring. The junco shown here was the last one I spotted this year.
