New World Vultures (Cathartidae)
Animalia > Aves > Accipitriformes > Cathartidae
The origins of vultures are a bit controversial; they are classified in the same Order as other birds of prey such as hawks and eagles, but the exact relationships are unclear. What is widely agreed is that the New World vultures are not directly related to the Old World vultures.
